Showing a Savannah as a Household Pet

The Household pet category of a TICA show is meant for cats with an unknown or mixed pedigree, and cats that are altered pets - not cats that are part of a breeding program, or intended for a breeding program. Unaltered kittens may be shown as HHPs, but cats over 8 months must be altered.

It is important to note that all F1 and F2 generation cats with exotic cat ancestry (e.g., savannahs, bengals, chausies, and safaris) are not eligible for show - even as HHPs. They may only be allowed in the show hall for exhibition (and only with the show manager's written permission), or for special breed events that specifically showcase these generations as part of breed education (such as the Savannah-Rama).

Thus, if you wish to show your unregistered savannah as a HHP, you should provide some type of documentation that it is at least an F3 or later generation. For example, if the cat's mother was a F2 or F3 savannah that was accidentally impregnated by an unknown domestic male or an unintended domestic male not suited for a savannah program (an 'oops' breeding), you may use the maternal pedigree as documentation that your cat is at least an F3. The cat should also be one that is altered, unless it is a young kitten - in which case it will be altered by 8 months.
